I’ve been playing around with this poster idea all week. Canalé is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, and it reminds me of another favorite restaurants from years ago in Paris. That restaurant was called Deux Vignes or Les Vignes, I don’t remember, exactly, probably due to the quantity of wine that was put away with every meal.
I do remember that it was in the 12th near the Bastille. Once, I was there finishing a lovely dinner with a friend. We where drinking wine, and lighting an after dinner cigarette. The coffee arrived, and she said “this is the luckiest thing in life: when you are having the coffee and cigarette after dinner and there is still half a bottle of wine.” If only we could smoke after a glorious dinner at Canalé!
